Student refunds at the University are managed in partnership with Nelnet: Business Solutions. We offer an easy way to get your refund each semester if money is due back to you. The best part? You choose how we send you your money:
- Direct Deposit
- Paper Check
DIRECT DEPOSIT (3-5 business days)
Not only easy, but direct deposit is the fastest method for receiving your refund. Simply provide your bank account information and we'll deposit your refund directly into your account.
PAPER CHECK (7-14 business days)
This option requires that you keep your mailing address current in Cyberbear, ensuring that you receive your refund quickly and efficiently.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When will I receive my refund?
Refunds are processed twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays. Choose how you would like to receive your refund by simply logging into Cyberbear, Student Account Services, Student Refunds, MY REFUND OPTION. Enter Cyberbear to select your option.
Why do I need to make a refund selection?
Selecting an option will ensure that you receive your refund in a timely manner. You may select direct deposit to your bank account (3-5 business days) or a paper check (7-14 business days).
Is there a minimum refund?
No refund amounting to less than $10 shall be paid by the University of Montana, except upon the specific request of the person entitled to receive the refund. All refund requests must be received in writing.
