General Education Transfer Degrees

The Associate of Arts (AA) and Associate of Science (AS)

degrees are excellent pathways to a baccalaureate programs at the University of Montana or other public institutions, and are equivalent to the first two years of a four-year degree program. These degrees allow students to explore different disciplines and career fields, while exploring their own interests. While both degrees have a general education component, the AS degree includes additional studies in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM).

The AA and AS degrees can be completed in person or entirely online and includes a minimum of 60 credits

Program Description

General AA and AS students have the flexibility to complete a broad-based course of study, or focus their studies in a particular area of interest to create a pathway to a four-year major degree program. Students may also earn their AA with their concentration in Communication Studies, Professional Communication, Psychology, or Speech Language Pathology.

AS degree students can earn their degree with options in Public Health or Business. Each student follows a tailored curriculum, designed in conjunction with an advisor, based on the student's personal, professional and educational goals. Upon admission to Missoula College, please contact the Academic Advising Center at AcademicAdvisingCenter@umontana.edu to begin planning your course of study.
