UM graduate hugs a supporter

Hi,

Beginning your first day on campus, we will provide you with both academic AND career support. We will help connect your major-related studies with career-related activities, so you graduate broadly educated and specifically skilled … totally prepared for the first day of your first big-kid job.

UM is an advocate of campus-to-career readiness and invites you to join our signature program, ElevateU, to link your passion, personality and career potential to your academic plans through in-class and out-of-class activities.

Housed in the  Experiential Learning and Career Success (ELCS) office, our advisors will help you move through one of four ElevateU career readiness levels, Explore, Experience, Embrace and Elevate, every year. Your studies will be enhanced by activities at each level – volunteer, attend job fairs, investigate careers, conduct research, complete internships, network with professionals, study away and more!

Our certified career coaches will help you search for internships, jobs and certifications; prepare for interviews and salary negotiations; and design branded résumés, cover letters and LinkedIn profiles so you have the career competency and self-confidence needed to slay your professional goals.

And don’t forget the upcoming deadlines for fall semester! First-year students should complete Online Bear Tracks and register for New Student Orientation by July 30, while transfer students should complete the Online New Student Orientation by July 30.

See you soon, Griz!
