3 cr. Offered spring. Prereq., graduate standing in psychology or consent of instr. Provides an overview of developmental psychopathology in children and adolescents. Presents students with in-depth and detailed information on diagnostic criteria, epidemiological factors, and associated characteristics of common disorders. Additionally, the course covers issues of nosology, psychopathology as developmentally embedded, risk and resilience, ecological influences, nosological considerations, and general theoretical models underpinning our understanding of psychopathological functioning.

537 Child Assessment

3 cr.Offered every other even year in fall. Provides an intensive introduction to diagnostic, behavioral, and personality assessment of children and adolescents. The use of objective and projective tests with children of all ages will be explored through a comprehensive review of common tests utilized with these populations. Students learn how to identify, administer, and interpret a number of common child assessment tools for a wide range of psychological difficulties in youth.
