Speech, Phonology, Articulation Remediation for Kids (SPARK)

The SPARK clinic is for preschool children who are difficult to understand and ages 3-5 years old with speech sound disorder. We provide a comprehensive evaluation and then children may begin our specially designed group classes for speech learning if it is a good fit for their needs.

The speech therapy is provided in a group setting, much like a small preschool class or summer camp. Each session features a sound of the day and a rotation of speech sounds throughout the term. The children play games, make art, share stories, sing songs, have snack, join center activities—and simultaneously practice their speech sounds! We keep the children having as much fun as possible to motivate their hard work!

Dr. Amy Glaspey Directs the SPARK Clinic and is Professor in the School of Speech, Language, Hearing, and Occupational Sciences.

Spring term 2024: SPARK will be offered on Monday mornings for a two-and-a-half-hour session beginning in Mid-January.

Summer term 2024: New this year! SPARK will be offered as a summer camp! More details to be posted soon. Seeking applicants for spring 2024 session. Please contact 406-243-2405 or ritecarereception@umt.edu to apply!
