IMPORTANT NOTICE for New Students

SEVIS NOTICE – December 31, 2008

The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) is aware of the problem that the I-901 Fee Payment site is currently experiencing.

Potential F, M or J nonimmigrants, who must pay the I-901 SEVIS fee, will experience problems verifying their payment was successfully updated. If the confirmation page does not appear within 2 minutes, please do not resubmit the payment. Please send an email to fmjfee.sevis@dhs.gov to get confirmation via email.

Please advise your prospective students or exchange visitors to only make 1 payment to avoid overpaying. In addition, please advise that SEVP is diligently working to resolve the problem.

Please note that the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) will be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2009 in recognition of New Years day.

The University of Montana (UM) has a long tradition of welcoming international students to our campus and community.  There are approximately 472 students from  79 different foreign countries currently attending school at UM. Over the past year we have also had 298 scholars from 48 different foreign countries at UM.

This web site is updated regularly to offer information about a wide range of topics useful to incoming foreign students and scholars, both before and after their arrival in Missoula.
