1:00   PM.     Green & Yellow Folders Holders:   TB Tests and Immunization for those students identified as requiring these.   If not required for you, you have free time now.

                                   Place: Curry Health Center (see campus map) or meet us at 12:45  P.M. at the bottom of the stairs in University Center on first floor, and we’ll take you there.

 

                       Red and Blue Folder Holders:    Continue Lunch   &  Griz Card Application

                                   Go to Griz Card Center on first floor of UC and apply for your Griz Card (=University of Montana Student Identification Card). Cost of card is $15.

 

2:00 PM        Red and Blue Folder Holders: TB Tests and Immunization for those students identified as requiring these.   If not required for you, you have free time now.

                                   Place: Curry Health Center (see campus map) or meet us at 1:45 P.M.  at the bottom of the stairs in University Center on first floor, and we’ll take you there.

                                   Go to Griz Card Center on first floor of UC and apply for your Griz Card (=University of Montana Student Identification Card). Cost of card is $15.

9:00 A.M.       Immigration Regulations and Student Benefits for
                        F-1 and J-1 visa  holders (including maintaining legal
                        status, work authorizations,  transfers, etc.).

                        Place: University Center (UC Building), 3rd Floor,
                        Rooms 330-331

10:00 A.M.     Shuttle-van Service to Downtown Banks

- 12 noon        For rides to downtown banks, meet at the Foreign
                          Student & Scholar Service’s front lounge at the
                         following times:

            The van will also pick you up downtown and bring you back

 7:00 P.M.          Orientation and Sign-Up for MIFP: Missoula

                            International Friendship Program (“Community

                            Friends”). Rides home will be provided to those living

                           off-campus.

                                     Place:University Center 330 – 331

                           Adair Kanter, MIFP Executive Board Member 

                           This is a meeting for students wishing to find out more

                           about being matched with a Community Friend. This

                           meeting is mandatory to join the program.

2:00 – 3:00 P.M.      Foreign Student Orientation to the services

& repeated again   available in UM’s library.   Meet in the Lobby of the

 3:00 – 4:00 P.M.     Mansfield Library at 2:00 P.M. sharp

                                   Megan Stark and Kate Zoellner,  Mansfield Library

(A follow-up session on how to use specific library resource, like the on-

line catalog, electronic databases and subject specific resources, will be

 held on Thursday: February 1st from 4:00 – 5:00 P.M. in Room LIB283,

led by Librarian Charlie Potter.  You should first attend today’s session.)

 

 SATURDAY, JANUARY 19

Meet at: International House, 659 South 5th East

10:00 – 2:30 P.M.      Shopping Trips…for the essentials you need to

                                     get started!

                                    The orientation assistants will take you to one large, inexpensive store that has everything you need – Shopko. There is also a grocery store nearby and a fast food restaurant (Taco Bell). (Lewis and Clark Students will be picked up from Lewis and Clark – see your pick-up schedule.)

Departure times from International House: 10 A.M. & 12 noon

Return times from designated meeting place: 12:30 P.M. & 2:30 P.M.

            It is your responsibility to catch the last shuttle. If you miss it,

you may need to take a taxi back to campus, as it is quite far to walk.

5:00 – 6:30 P.M.        Introduction to your Peer Assistant with Dinner

                                                International Peer Assistant Program

                                                            If you signed up for the peer program, this is where you’ll meet your peer!        

                                                            This is a mandatory meeting for foreign students who signed up for the peer program. Please meet promptly at 5:00 P.M.
