In 2018, UM will celebrate 125 years of academic excellence. For continued strength into the future, we must examine our organization and make sound decisions to reflect the needs of our students and maximize the finite resources available to achieve our mission. Forward125 puts us on a path toward achieving this end. The project will run from approximately April 2017 to January 2018.
Forward125 is the “umbrella” under which we are organizing several efforts, some ongoing and some newly developed:
- Academic Programs and Administrative Services Prioritization (APASP)
- University Budget Committee and Sub-Committees
- Strategic Planning Coordinating Council (Spring) and University Planning Committee (Fall)
- University Assessment and Accreditation Committee
- Foward125 Project Management Team
The University Budget Committee, the University Planning Committee, and the University Assessment and Accreditation Committee are all standing campus committees. Their work will focus on achieving the goals identified for the Forward125 project over the next several months and then will return to their original charges. The Strategic Planning Coordinating Council is scheduled to deliver their report to the administration in early April, and their findings will guide much of our work. The Forward125 Project Management Team is tasked with ensuring that all of the groups are supported and are meeting their deadlines. The APASP Task Force will be in charge of reviewing all programs on campus – both academic and non-academic.
