Rates for the 2017-2018 Academic Year are pending approval of the Board of Regents. All rates include cable TV, high-speed Internet, and all utilities. Each year, rates are proposed and subject to change pending approval of the Board of Regents.

2017-2018 Locked-In Rates

2017-2018 Academic Year Rates for Returning Students with Locked-In Rates

These rates are semester rates and are effective for the 2017-2018 academic year. All rates include cable TV, high-speed Internet, and all utilities. Each year, rates are proposed and subject to change pending approval of the Board of Regents.

Returning UM student who submit a completed housing applicatio by February 26, 2017 were able to "lock-in"the 2016-2017 housing rates for a second year. The semeseter rates for those students are efective for the 2017-2018 academic year.

Cancellation Deadlines

Fall 2017

Fall 2017 Cancellation Information

The application is accompanied by $225.00. The $25.00 is a non-refundable processing fee and the $200.00 is considered a prepayment on rent.  If a room reservation is cancelled for Fall Semester, the following refund policy applies.

Spring 2017

Spring 2017 Cancellation Information

The application is accompanied by $225.00. The $25.00 is a non-refundable processing fee and the $200.00 is considered a prepayment on rent.  If a room reservation is cancelled for Spring Semester, the following refund policy applies.

No Refund

If a reservation for Residence Halls is canceled after the cancellation deadline, there will be a $200 cancellation fee assessed. If a resident has been properly released and moves out mid-term, there will be a $200 cancellation fee plus the daily prorated amount for each day until the official checkout is completed. If you apply after the cancellation deadline and then cancel, there will be no refund.  If a resident is not properly released, there will be no refund for the semester housing charges.
 
Cancellations must be made directly with the Residence Life Office. Changing or canceling enrollment with Admissions does not cancel with Housing or UM Dining. Cancellations not received prior to the official semester move-in date will result in a daily-prorated amount charged for holding the space through the date Residence Life receives cancellation notice or the semester audit is completed.

How to Cancel Housing

To cancel your housing, submit the Housing Cancellation Form.  You will need to log in using your NetID and password in order to complete the form.  All cancellations must be made by the student and not a parent.

Refunds on Prepayment

Refunds are applied to the student Cyberbear account to go towards any owing balance.  If the refund is greater than the balance owing, the remainder will be refunded to the student through the University of Montana refund process.

Renter's Insurance

The Residence Life Office is not responsible for damage to or theft of personal property of residents living in the Residence Halls. Residents are strongly encouraged to obtain their own comprehensive renter's insurance policy for theft and damage of personal property. This insurance is available through any insurance underwriter. Insurance for personal property while on-campus may be available through parent’s homeowners’ or renter’s insurance.
