George Longfish

A Retrospective

George Longfish: A Retrospective celebrates 35 years of work by the internationally acclaimed artist.  An artist, educator, and curator, George Longfish was the sole director of the University of Montana Graduate Program in Indian Art.  Originally released to accompany a retrospective showing of Longfish’s work at the Montanan Museum of Art and Culture, the exhibition went on to tour nationally with stops in Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota and Washington state among many others. This soft cover book contains full color reproductions of his artwork alongside an essay by catalogue author Kate Morris, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Nonwestern and Contemporary Art at Santa Clara University.  This beautiful, full-color overview of Longfish’s paintings and mixed-media sculptures presents his work with insightful analysis.
