Where did you attend college? sam-greenberg.jpg

I did my undergraduate studies at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY and then attended Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, NJ.

Where did you do your residency?

I stayed on the East Coast to do my residency at Brown Family Medicine Residency in Pawtucket, RI and then completed a Maternal Child Health Fellowship at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, RI.

Within your specialty, do you have any sub-specialty areas of practice that you particularly enjoy?

I enjoy Maternal Child Health, Reproductive Health, and Adolescent Medicine.

What do you most enjoy about practicing Family Medicine?

I  love the connections I make with my patients and their families. I also like that you never have two days exactly like one another. The variety of patients that walk through the door ensures you can never get bored.

What do you enjoy most about teaching?

I love that by teaching I am always learning, both so that I can teach well and because I learn from my learners.

What brought you to Montana?

My husband and I used to joke about moving west and living on a farm while I was Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. Then I came to Montana as a resident on a rural rotation in Butte. The moment I stepped off the plane and saw the mountains and endless sky, I knew I had to live here.

Why did you choose to be part of FMRWM?

I have never worked someplace that is so thoughtful about and dedicated to their mission. When I interviewed here I was also blown away by how every aspect of this program, from how we serve our residents, our patients and our faculty, has been not only considered but written down to hold us accountable.

What are some of your interests outside of the clinic or classroom?

I have a DIY addiction: gardening, building furniture for my home, crafting, and cooking. I also enjoy hiking, biking and generally doing anything that allows me to have the sun on my face.

What do you love about Western Montana?

The mountains. Full Stop!

What is your favorite:

  • Book? A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving and Harry Potter
  • Album? I don't have a favorite album per say- I enjoy most music but particularly modern folk and indie-alternative.
  • Movie? I love a good rom-com: When Harry Met Sally, You've Got Mail, While You Were Sleeping, The Cutting Edge
