Preparing to Go Abroad

Once accepted to study abroad through a UM-sponsored program, you will have post-decision application items and responsibilities to complete. Our office will enroll you in a mandatory,  one-credit, 8-week Pre-Departure Orientation the semester before you go abroad, and before you go you'll register your travel in the UM Travel Registry* and enroll into GeoBlue International Insurance*.

While Abroad

You made it abroad! Congratulations! If you travel to another location (defined as anywhere outside of your host city) immediately before, during, or immediately after your study abroad program, register all travel as a Side Trip in the University of Montana's Travel Registry.

If you have any questions about or need to extend your international insurance, please schedule an appointment with UM Education Abroad.
