Personal Summary

Cathy Burleson has been a Research Analyst in Institutional Research since 1997. Her educational background is a Master’s in Statistics from Florida State University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Liberal Studies from the University of Central Florida. Her primary focus is extracting, cleaning and manipulating data from databases to produce information on students such as enrollments, retention and grad rates, various demographics for national and state reporting, college guide surveys and grant applications. Occasionally she gets to use her statistics background to produce studies on students for faculty and staff. Here current interests at work are keeping current in the data science field and learning Tableau, a data visualization tool.

Cathy’s volunteer activities outside of work include being a Family Promise volunteer coordinator at her church. Family Promise is a nonprofit that provides shelter and meals for homeless families. Her current interests in this area are learning and practicing servant style leadership.

Other favorite activities include reading spiritual writings, meditating, yoga, cooking, being with family and friends, and enjoying the beautiful outdoors of Montana.
