Personal Summary

Cara Grewell (she/her) joined the Office of Institutional Research in September of 2021 as the Business Intelligence Manager. Her roles include building and manipulating data visualizations through Tableau Software, developing training modules to improve data literacy across the UM Campus, and assisting other team members with the various projects that filter through the Data Office.

Cara grew up in south-central Montana on a cattle/horse ranch and moved to Missoula mid-2016 for college. Cara earned two degrees at the University of Montana, a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Political Science and Sociology and a Master of Public Administration. She was initially interested in politics, but found that change best happens when decisions are informed by data. Prior to joining the Data Office, Cara worked as Graduate Assistant with theUM MPA program, primarily focused on survey creation, distribution, and analysis. She also served as a Montana Baucus Fellow in summer of 2021 with the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education.

Cara lives in the Heart of Missoula with her fiancé, Olivia, and their two furry friends, Willow and Moose. They particularly enjoy going to concerts and live comedy shows, floating the Clark Fork in the summer, and hitting up the local breweries and taphouses with friends.
