Personal Summary

Hello! My name is Madeline Strah-Farber and I am currently in my second year of the linguistics masters program. I am originally from Loveland, Colorado, roughly 45 minutes from Denver. I became interested in linguistics after an Introduction to Linguistics class during my sophmore year in college, and my passion for the topic has only continued to grow. Outside of school I love spending time with my husband Brandon and our dog Tina.

Education

I graduated from Colorado State University in 2020 with a degree in French Literature, Languages, and Culture, as well as a degree in English. Less than a year later I decided to go back to school to obtain my English as a Second Language (ESL) certification as well as an Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification.

Research Interests

During my junior-senior year of college, I was able to conduct a small research project on vowel substitutions of L2 learners of French, currently studying at Colorado State University. The goal of this project was to investigate the vowel qualities of L2 learners and to analyze if accuracy of pronunciation changed with experience in French.
