Description


The purpose of this training will be to provide an introduction to 21st century public health frameworks and foundations, including:

• Public Health 3.0 / Chief Health Strategist
• The 10 Essential Public Health Services (CDC)
• The Foundational Public Health Services (PHNCI)
• Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals (Council on Linkages / PHF)

PH Foundations 1.0: In the first webinar, we will review these public health frameworks and provide an overview of the key elements of each.

PH Foundations 2.0: In the second webinar, we will discuss how these frameworks relate to Montana's public health system and identify the role that local and tribal health departments play in advancing these skills and capabilities.

In addition, we will be offering a third virtual session for informal conversation and Q&A related to the concepts presented in the first two webinars.

Stefanie Tassaro

Stefanie Tassaro earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Purdue University and is currently a University of Montana MPH candidate. Stefanie started in public health serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA with the Gallatin City-County Health Department in 2014. Upon completing her year of service with AmeriCorps, Stefanie served as the Accreditation Coordinator and Quality Improvement Specialist for the Gallatin City-County Health Department from September 2015 until December 2020. In this role, Stefanie led public health accreditation efforts, community health assessment and improvement planning, and organizational strategic planning and performance management. In addition to local health department experience, Stefanie has also worked at the Montana Department of Public Health & Human Services as the Accreditation Coordinator. Currently, Stefanie works at the Montana Public Health Institute as a program specialist and administrative coordinator.
