The Science of the Positive: Exploring the Positive Community Norms Framework
The Science of the Positive (SOTP) framework examines how positive influences shape individual and collective experiences. One of the key applications of the SOTP is the Positive Community Norms (PCN) framework, which focuses on growing accurate perceptions of norms to increase health and reduce risks.
These frameworks complement traditional prevention strategies by prioritizing opportunities that foster meaningful, effective, and empowering experiences, which is why the University of Montana Technical Assistance Center (UM-TAC) has teamed up with the Montana Institute to bring a two-part training series on the Positive Community Norms (PCN) Framework to public health and prevention leaders in Montana.
