Join us for the University of Montana’s UM Dance Days 2024! This event features:

• Master classes in diverse dance forms
• Open forums with current dance students and faculty
• The celebratory ACDA Benefit Concert
• An entrance/scholarship audition for incoming dance majors (optional) -- For complete audition information, please review our Dance Major Application information sheet.

As the sole collegiate Dance Program in the state of Montana, we are proud to offer the following degrees:

DAY ONE

8:30-9:00a: Sign-in

9:00-9:15a: Welcome and introductions of faculty/staff

9:15-10:30a: Contemporary Modern Technique and Creative Practices with Brooklyn Draper and Heidi Jones Eggert

10:40-11:30a: Jazz with Tara McFarland

11:30a-12:30p: Lunch provided by UM Dance at the Food Zoo on campus     

Optional: self-guided campus tour 

12:45-1:45p: Ballet with Faith Morrison

1:55-2:35p: Hip-Hop with Katie Thompson

2:45-3:25p: African Dance with Tarn Ream

3:30-4:00p: Round-table discussion and snacks with UM dance majors and faculty

Optional: quick guided tour of beautiful PARTV spaces – theatres, studios, shops

7:30p: The highly celebrated ACDA Benefit Concert* is the culmination of day one.

*The American College Dance Association (ACDA) Benefit Concert helps UM dance students fundraise to attend the annual northwest conference of ACDA. This concert features choreography selected to be performed at ACDA in March 2024 at Weber State University.

DAY TWO

10:00-10:45a: Warm-up class with dance faculty

10:45a-3:00p: Auditions and scholarship review for students wishing to enroll as Dance Majors at UM
