About the ASUM Office of Transportation
The Associated Students of the University of Montana (ASUM) Office of Transportation's mission is to increase transportation options and awareness for the University of Montana campus.
This process is accomplished through a combination of programs agreed upon by the ASUM Transportation Board. This office is supported by a student initiated fee of $35 per semester.
The Office of Transportation was started in 1999, when students became frustrated with the limited transportation options on campus. The students voted to enact a fee that would fund a bus service. Although it started out with a fifteen passenger van, the ridership was overwhelming and the van wasn't sufficient. Full size buses were soon integrated, and today our fleet consists of nine buses and four fixed routes.
