The University of Montana Lambda Alliance seeks to increase the visibility and acceptance of the LGBTQ community, through education, advocacy, and the promotion of social tolerance.

OUTFIELD ALLIANCE

The Outfield Alliance is a lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, and intersex (LBGTQI) group open to University of Montana employees and graduate students. The group has existed for about 15 years at the university. The Outfield Alliance functions as a social group that meets a few times during the academic year, works on LGBTQ-related issues, sponsors educational events on campus, and provides a support network to those experiencing discrimination.

UM WOMEN'S CENTER

Provides education and awareness of women's issues and referrals for domestic violence, gay and lesbian issues, psychological support, eating disorders and reproductive health.

Community

WESTERN MONTANA COMMUNITY CENTER

Provides opportunities for both formal and informal interaction among members of the GLBTI community of Montana. Offers safe and accessible facilities for educational, social and other community events. Serves as a resource to provide information for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex members and visitors to Missoula and Western Montana. The center will support education, advocate for social justice and facilitate communication within the whole community of Western Montana.

GAY HEALTH TASK FORCE, MONTANA

Working to provide sensitive, appropriate and comprehensive health messages and interventions aimed at improving the overall health of gay & bisexual men in Montana. Our vision is to help gay & bisexual men create lives for themselves worth protecting with bold and fearless conviction. The Gay Men's Task Force (GMTF) is made up of gay men from across the state of Montana. We meet three times a year in person and several times a year via conference calls or at GMTF events.

MISSOULA AIDS COUNCIL

A non-profit organization that seeks to end the transmission of HIV/AIDS, advocates for those living with HIV/AIDS, and provides culturally competent services and care for those with HIV/AIDS.

MONTANA GENDER ALLIANCE

Cornerstone for the gender expansion project community outreach programs is a collective network of individuals of gender diversity, their families, and their allies. We provide a safe space for support and discussion of topics in which often surround the gender diverse spectrum.

GLAAD

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is dedicated to promoting and ensuing fair, accurate and inclusive representation of people and events in the media as a means of eliminating homophobia and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.

Medical

COUNSELING

CAPS provides rapid access to brief individual, group and couples therapy for UM students. CAPS also serves the needs of students in crisis and facilitates off-campus referrals when necessary. Psychiatric visits by appointment.

CURRY HEALTH CENTER MEDICAL CLINIC

Curry Health Center provides both primary health care services as well as urgent care services to The University of Montana student population. We are open 24/7 when school is in session during the academic year. An appointment can be scheduled for primary care and we are also available on a walk-in basic for urgent care visits for illness or injury.

BLUE MOUNTAIN CLINIC

Blue Mountain Clinic offers health care that begins with listening, provides information and options and respects individual choices.

PLANNED PARENTHOOD

Planned Parenthood believes in the fundamental right of each individual, throughout the world, to manage his or her fertility, regardless of the individual's income, marital status, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, national origin, or residence.

The Student Advocacy Resource Center (SARC) is a program of the Curry Health Center for survivors of recent and past sexual and/or relationship violence. SARC provides free and confidential support, information and referrals for survivors and their friends and family. An advocate can be reached on the 24 hour help line, (406) 243-6559, or in the office, in the Curry Health Center, Monday-Friday 10AM-5PM. SARC also uses peer education programs, events and social marketing campaigns to raise awareness about interpersonal violence and healthy relationships and sexuality.

The National Organization for Victim Assistance is a private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization of victim and witness assistance programs and practitioners, criminal justice agencies and professionals, mental health professionals, researchers, former victims and survivors, and others committed to the recognition and implementation of victim rights and services.

LGBT NATIONAL HELP CENTER

Providing free and confidential telephone and internet peer-counseling, information and local resources for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning callers throughout the United States. We also work to strengthen local GLBT hotlines and organizations in their mission of service to our community.

WESTERN STATES CENTER

An organization that works to bridge the LGBTQ community with communities of color to collectively address racial justice, gender issues, and LGBTQ equality. The center offers trainings, consultation and support, research and analysis, tools and resources, strategic convening, and works primarily in eight states: Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

NATIONAL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE HOTLINE

The Hotline is the vital link to safety for women, men, children and families affected by domestic violence. Callers are met with a live voice of a caring Advocate who helps the caller develop a safety plan, see options for hope and can quickly direct-connect callers with sources of help in communities across the U.S. The Hotline is an excellent source of help for concerned friends, family, co-workers and others seeking information and guidance on how to help someone they know. 1 in 4 women is abused, and friends and family are some of the first places they turn for help.

NATIONAL SEXUAL ASSAULT HOTLINE

The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network is the nation's largest anti-sexual assault organization. RAINN operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1.800.656.HOPE and the National Sexual Assault Online Hotline at rainn.org, and publicizes the hotlines' free, confidential services; educates the public about sexual assault; and leads national efforts to prevent sexual assault, improve services to victims and ensure that rapists are brought to justice.
