Gary Arnold

Redline Entertainment, Best Buy Co Inc.

As President of Redline Entertainment, Gary Arnold is responsible for this newly created subsidiary of the Fortune 100 retail giant Best Buy Co. Inc. Redline Entertainment is a strategic component of Best Buy expanding and diversifying the Company's role in the Entertainment Ecosystem. Redline Entertainment represents "new thinking" and a broad look at the changing consumer demands for styles and types of entertainment, by expanding beyond music into emerging markets such as DVD, Action Sports Videos, as well as video gaming.

Arnold joined Best Buy in 1994 as Merchandise Manager of Music, and was promoted to Vice President Entertainment Software in 1996 and Senior Vice President Entertainment Software in May 1998. During this time Best Buy grew from a regional retail force to the number one seller of compact disc in the world. Arnold's career in the music industry spans 30 years and has involved included a number of diverse roles. Prior to joining Best Buy, Arnold started his own marketing services firm for the entertainment industry, called "Art Fills the Void" and worked directly for clients on the various marketing needs based upon the clients stage within their career, including The Jimi Hendrix estate, Queen, and MCA Records. He also served as Senior Vice President of Sales for Disney's frontline label Hollywood Records. Prior to joining Hollywood Records Arnold spent ten years at national music retailer Trans World Music Entertainment in the role of Senior Vice President of marketing and helped grow the chain from a regional retailer through public offering. Arnold began his career in his home state of Indiana on the retail floor learning the business from the ground up in 1972 with regional music retailer Disc Records.

Arnold is a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana.  He is married and has five children.
