Student Spotlight

Elias Snyders, Spring 2019 Graduate

"The close-knit nature of the UMEM program has helped me to build lifelong friendships and a powerful network of entertainment business professionals. Small class sizes and passionate instructors make this a truly one of a kind experience that is unmatched by entertainment programs at larger universities."

Caitlin Soltesz, Spring 2019 Graduate

"The Entertainment Management Program has been a whirlwind of hands on learning, excitement, and engaging classes. This program has helped direct me into the career path I hope to pursue after graduation and I’m very grateful to learn from such excellent professors!"

Sam Moran, Fall 2018 Graduate

"I did not know about the Entertainment Management program when I transferred to the University of Montana. I did not know anything about the entertainment industry either. I happily stumbled upon what has now consumed the past two years of my education. The UMEM program offers students an inside look into a business industry no one really looks at. I have been given many opportunities to meet different people in the business and work with them on inside projects while gaining firsthand experience. I have interned with the Red Lodge Songwriter Festival, helped create, market and distribute a record album with Switchback Records, and have participated in the Vegas Music Summit, Montana Music Summit and the IEBA (International Entertainment Buyers Association) Conference. All of these giving me hands-on experience and an expansive network of professionals in the industry. The UMEM program helped me figure out what I wanted to do as well as gave me lifelong friends and outrageous and unforgettable memories."

"I just finished up the online courses, Event Management and Principles of Entertainment Management I (BMGT 401 & 402) and wanted to personally thank you for both of the courses this summer semester. I thoroughly enjoyed both classes, as they were so different from any other business class I have taken thus far at UM. The layout of the classes were awesome and the content was great as well. I will definitely suggest these classes to my colleagues."
