Visit GoLoco.org, MRTMA.org, or erideshare.com to find a ride to school, out-of-town concerts, and home during academic breaks.
ASUM Transportation is bringing GoLoco to UM students, faculty and staff, and to the entire Missoula community.
What is GoLoco?
Goloco.org is a terrific new facebook application that makes ridesharing easy. Brought to you by the founder of Zipcar, GoLoco allows you to save money and to reduce your environmental footprint. This is a great way for students to share rides to events, skiing, hiking, exploring, to the University, and for road trips. There are over 9,000 users on facebook that are in the UM group. Hopefully a good percentage of those users will decide to “share a ride” with others from UM. One of the biggest problems with ridesharing in Missoula has been getting a base of users so when looking for a ride there are several options to look at. GoLoco.org has a much better chance to build that base.
How does GoLoco work?
Since GoLoco is a facebook based rideshare program the user has total control. You can just have your facebook friends see your ride, open the ride to all UM group, or just send to one other person. Drivers can share the costs seamlessly and fairly. Car travel is our single larges contribution of CO2 emissions. Each time you GoLoco instead of going solo you cut your trip contribution in half or better. Become a member at www.goloco.org today. It’s free!
Top 3 reasons to post your trip and share it with your friends:
#1: Money!
Save yourself some of the cost of that trip. No matter where you are going, wouldn't it be better to pay half as much by splitting it? You can even post taxi trips on GoLoco.
#2: Environment!
Sharing rides radically reduces CO2 emissions. Post your trips and get an alert anytime someone's going your way.
#3: Fun!
Meet new people and enjoy yourselves, go loco in the best senses of the word.
