Alcohol Poisoning Help a Friend

  

TRY, LISTEN, CHECK!

1-Try To Wake You Friend

If your friend does not respond, or you cannot wake them CALL 9-1-1

2 -Listen to you Friend's breathing

Is breathing irregular, or too slow/shallow?

3 -Check you Friend's Skin

Is his/her skin pale or bluish or is it cold or clammy?

TAKE ACTION

  • If you discover ANY ONE of the above call 9-1-1.
  • Stay with your friend while waiting for help.
  • Make sure your friend is laying on their side to prevent choking

Alcohol Poisoning Defined

1.  A drug overdose.
2.  Alcohol poisoning occurs when the body absorbs too much alcohol causing the areas in the brain that control       consciousness, respiration and heart rate to shut down, which may lead to a coma or ultimately death.
