2023-2024 Dining Plans

Your dining plan is an essential part of your life on campus. Fortunately, some of the best food in the state is served right here at the University! There's no shopping, prepping, cooking, or cleanup. From our all-you-care-to-eat dining center to the many coffee shops across campus, you’ll be served chef-crafted food that’s fresh, nutritious, convenient and craveable. We’re your kitchen, living room, place to unwind, study and enjoy a meal with friends during your time on campus.

Students living in on-campus residence halls are required to purchase a residential dining plan as part of UM Housing's residence hall application process. Once purchased, your dining plan can be accessed through your official University of Montana photo identification card, your Griz Card.

Your dining plan is the first step to accessing all Campus Dining has to offer. For instance, students with a residential dining plan are invited to participate in private nutrition counseling with our registered dietitian, free of charge. As an added bonus, dining plan holders receive five guest passes, available on your Griz Card, which can be used to buy meals at the Food Zoo for friends and family members who visit you on campus.

All-Campus Dining Plan

The All-Campus dining plan provides you the flexibility to eat wherever you would like on campus, providing access to all our main campus locations. For $3,414 per semester, the All-Campus dining plan provides you a weekly dining fund of $99.75 which is automatically reloaded onto your Griz Card every Monday. Whether you prefer the variety of fast-casual food options of the Food Court or brick-style oven pizza and coffee at our newest location, Rise+Rooted, you can utilize your weekly dining fund to purchase items throughout our locations, including Food Zoo entry swipes at the residential dining plan rate.

The All-Campus dining plan includes more than just food; this plan also allows you to use your weekly dining fund to purchase convenience items such as testing supplies, toiletries, and much more in our retail locations on-campus. Because this dining plan is so versatile, the All-Campus plan does not include flex dollars.

Dining plans are activated on January 17, 2024 and will be available for use on your UM Griz Card. This plan is to be used during the academic semester, when classes are in session and must be utilized by May 12, 2024. Food Zoo will be closed during Spring Break beginning March 16-23. Dinner service resumes Sunday, March 26. The All-Campus Dining Plan will be prorated for $4.75. Limited operations may be available during the break.

Food Zoo Dining Plans

The Food Zoo offers two dining plan options based on the frequency you eat throughout the day. Both Food Zoo plans provide exclusive access to the Food Zoo, our all-you-care-to-eat, buffet-style dining center. Offering an ever-changing variety of chef-crafted entrees, homemade soups, fresh fruits, and freshly-baked desserts from our Bear Claw Bakery, this location has something for everyone!

If you are looking for a dining plan that offers unlimited entries to the Food Zoo throughout the day, the Food Zoo Exclusive is designed for you! For $3,414* per semester, you can visit the Food Zoo any time the dining room is open, whether you plan on enjoying a light snack or a meal. You do not need to worry about managing entrance swipes or weekly dining funds; every meal in the Food Zoo, regardless of size, is included. As an added bonus, this plan includes $200 in supplemental flex dollars per semester, which may be used to access any of our other locations.

For students who typically dine during traditional dining periods, The Food Zoo 15 may be the plan for you. For $2,836*, the Food Zoo 15 offers 15 entrance swipes to the Food Zoo that can used as you wish throughout the week, including weekends. This plan includes $50 in supplemental flex dollars per semester which may be spent at any of our other locations.
