Primary Functions

The Department of Counselor Education at The University of Montana, Missoula is recruiting for a full time, tenure track assistant professor of Counselor Education. The Department offers two master's degree options in School and Mental Health Counseling. The Department also has a small doctoral program in Counselor Education and Supervision and an Ed.S. degree. The master's degree options are CACREP accredited through 2013.

  • Responsibilities include teaching graduate courses in Counselor Education, graduate student advising, scholarly research and service to the Department, College of Education and Human Sciences, The University of Montana and beyond.

  • This is a 10 month academic year appointment. Summer teaching for additional compensation may be possible.
  • Qualifications

  • An earned doctorate in Counselor Education or a closely related field and license eligibility in a school or mental health profession in Montana.

  • Preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience and supervision of student practica and internship, as well as expertise in school counseling and/or multicultural approaches to counseling.

Applicants should demonstrate professional competence in teaching, scholarship, and clinical supervision of graduate student practica and internship experiences.
