The Accounting Associate II will provide both secretarial and organizational support to the Division of Biological Sciences. Duties include, but are not limited to: reconciling budget transfer documents with spreadsheets and reports; building and maintaining spreadsheets; preparing personnel and payroll forms for student employees; verifying credit card transactions with use of ProCard; processing travel vouchers, advances, and reimbursements; reviewing invoices and claims; processing accounts payable payments; occasionally ordering equipment and supplies; processing grant documentation; verifying suitable appropriation sources
Position will demonstrate: knowledge of general accounting and reconciliation practices and procedures; knowledge of granting agency policies; knowledge of The University of Montana policies and procedures; ability to generate reports; ability to operate personal computers, related word processing, spreadsheet and database software with the ability to learn other software such as Banner; knowledge of Banner student payroll and finance systems; organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills and ability to meet deadlines in a busy environment with attention to detail; effective interpersonal, customer service, and oral communication skills, including ability to work with diverse population and build positive relationships; ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment and act with initiative; ability to work independently with minimal supervision; knowledge of standard office practices and procedures; business English, spelling, composition, and grammar; demonstrated customer service skills; ability to make sound decisions and remain calm and professional at all times; knowledge of supplies, equipment and/or services, ordering, and inventory control; ability to use standard office equipment: copiers, fax machine, typewriters and multi-line phone systems

| Minimum Job Qualifications |
|
High school graduation and two (2) years of related accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
|
