Position greets visitors and routes incoming telephone calls with a multiline telephone system; files, tracks, researches and updates alumni records (electronic and paper); assists person with accessing and navigating the alumni and UM webpages; assists executive director; accepts and processes event registrations, membership payments and other orders; drafts correspondence; provides general office support; runs campus errands
Position will demonstrate: effective interpersonal, customer service, and oral communication skills, including ability to work with diverse population and build positive relationships; ability to work independently with minimal supervision; ability to take accurate messages; knowledge of standard office practices and procedures; skill in the operation of personal computers and related word processing, spreadsheet and database software with the ability to learn other software (Banner); ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment and act with initiative; ability to navigate UM websites and troubleshoot basic website problems; ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment and act with initiative; ability to maintain calendars and schedule appointments; effective written communication skills with the ability to write, edit, and layout documents

| Minimum Job Qualifications |
|
High school graduation and one (1) year related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Demonstrated knowledge of standard office practices and procedures; business English, spelling, composition, and grammar
Effective interpersonal, public relations, and communication skills, including ability to work with a diverse population

Ability to maintain accurate records and files; maintain strict confidentiality
