Entry Rate: $11.331/hr. - $11.500/hr.

Primary Functions

  • The Program Coordinator manages the two scholarship programs of the LETTERS Project. Position serves as liaison between the students applying for their scholarships and The University of Montana Financial Aid Office as well as the contact person for any queries regarding the LETTERS Project. Duties include, but are not limited to: developing and disseminating scholarship recruitment materials; supporting recruitment of participants; facilitating communication among participants; preparing and editing project-related products; maintaining student scholarship records; making travel arrangements for teachers in the student teaching scholarship program to attend fall and spring teaching conferences; collecting and maintaining records including cost-match activities; managing ProCard; processing invoices, travel, procurement and reimbursement documents, internal database tracking and reconciliation, contracts, deposits, billing and purchasing practices; posting information on The University of Montana or School of Education websites; coordinating website information with the School of Education’s Director of Technology; preparing financial reports and statements; projecting quarterly data; training and supervising work study students; responding to questions of students preparing to complete student teaching; tabulating and compiling assessments and program statistics; composing, editing, and sending correspondence to multiple and numerous recipients

  • Position will demonstrate; knowledge of The University of Montana policies and procedures; knowledge of office practices and procedures and business English, spelling, grammar and composition; effective public relations, interpersonal, and communication skills to develop rapport with a diverse group of individuals; demonstrate effective written communication skills with the ability to write, edit, and layout documents and materials in a variety of formats suitable for the intended audience ability to make sound decisions and remain calm and professional at all times; effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to complete tasks while paying attention to detail; skill in the operation of personal computers and related word processing, and database software with the ability to learn other software; ability to generate financial statements and reports and project quarterly data; ability to maintain accurate files; ability to process invoicing, travel, procurement and reimbursement documents, internal database tracking and reconciliation, contracts, deposits, billing and purchasing practices; skill in gathering, analyzing and interpreting financial and statistical data; knowledge and experience with training and supervisory practices and procedures; demonstrated skill in the operation of standard office equipment; printers, copiers, fax machine, multi-line phone system
  • Minimum Job Qualifications

  • High school graduation and two (2) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Effective interpersonal, public relations, and communication skills, including ability to work with a diverse population
  • Demonstrated skill in use of personal computers and related word processing, database, and spreadsheet software
  • Demonstrated knowledge of standard office practices and procedures; business English, spelling, composition, and grammar
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and files; maintain strict confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and schedule events
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supervisory and training practices and procedures
  • Ability to interpret, compile data and provide appropriate reports
