Position performs administrative duties in support of student services, registrar, admissions, faculty appointments committee and the overall
functions of the Dean’s administrative office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: providing outstanding customer service and assistance to students, faculty, administrators, alumni and visitors to the law building; broadcasting e-mail messages; maintaining current informational resources for students; maintaining inventory of supplies (orders, receives, stocks and organizes supply room); maintaining fax and copier; completing frequent campus errands year round; moving furniture and supplies occasionally
Provides clerical assistance to the registrar: administers final exams; collects transcript and graduation requests; answers general questions
Provides clerical assistance to admissions officer by: maintaining electronic database and paper files; collecting and depositing application fees
Provides assistance to the Chair of Faculty Recruitment Committee, duties include: preparing correspondence and advertisements; scheduling interviews
Maintains the Montana Law Review subscriber accounts and product sales in QuickBooks; manages invoices and deposits subscription payments; adds gear sales to general journal
Successful candidate will demonstrate: knowledge of standard office practices and procedures, business English, grammar, spelling, composition, and punctuation; effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate to diverse groups of individuals, and establish and maintain working relationships with students, the University community, and the general public; ability to provide professional positive customer service; organizational, time management, prioritizing and multi-tasking skills and ability to meet deadlines in a busy fast-paced environment with attention to detail and frequent interruptions/distractions; skill in the operation of personal computers and related word processing, spreadsheet and database software (Excel, Word, Corel Wordperfect, Outlook, QuickBooks) with the ability to learn other software programs including Banner; demonstrated ability to use and troubleshoot standard office equipment; copiers, fax machine, ten-key adding machine, multi-line phone system with the ability to learn and operate related equipment; knowledge of, or ability to learn, the UM Law School admissions, recruitment and registration processes and guidelines; knowledge and experience in cash handling policies and procedures; ability to prepare cash, checks and credit card Treasury deposits; ability to maintain an organized and accurate inventory of supplies; ability to plan and schedule meetings and arrange logistics for meetings and interviews; ability to make travel arrangements; ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment and act with initiative; ability to troubleshoot and solve problems while maintaining a professional, personable demeanor; must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed

| Minimum Job Qualifications |

High school graduation and two (2) years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
