Research Development Program - Social and Behavioral Sciences

As part of an initiative to increase support for scholarly activity, the Office for the Vice President for Research and Development and the Faculty Development Office announce a new, one-time funding opportunity to support the expansion of externally funded social and behavioral science research awarded to faculty at the university.

Eligibility: All UM faculty on contract in 2011-12 (including faculty on non-tenurable appointments or on sabbatical) are eligible to apply.

Deadline: Proposals are due May 3, 2011.  Awards will be announced shortly afterwards.

Social and Behavioral Sciences Application Development

It is anticipated that up to four awards ($8,000 maximum per award) will be made to support faculty members’ participation in a proposal development program.

Consortium Development Leadership Team

Up to three awards ($12,000 maximum per award) will be made to support faculty with a history of successful funding to prepare a proposal to support research infrastructure in the social and behavioral sciences.
