Community Assistant

CA StaffThe Community Assistant is the live-in person responsible for an assigned area within University Villages consisting of approximately 100 apartment units. They serve as a liaison between the University administration and the tenants within UV; foster an atmosphere for academic, social, cultural and emotional growth in UV by serving as a resource to the tenants and their families and assist in the enforcement of all University and UV policies. This position is 20 hours per week and runs for a full calendar year. Please read the CA Job Description for more information about the CA position.

Compensation: CAs earn an apartment at University Villages and a stipend based on their apartment assignment. For the 2014-2015 contract period new CAs earn $10,722.

Spring 2015 CA Application Process

Residence Life has one opening for a Community Assistant for the Spring 2015 semester. This position will work February 15-May 31, 2015. There is an opportunity to stay on staff for the 2015-2016 contract year.

Application

All Community Assistant candidates must complete the Spring 2015 CA Application to be considered for the position. The Spring 2015 CA Application closed on Wednesday, February 4, 2015. All applications will be screened and individual interviews will be offered to a select number of applications.

Individual Interview

CA candidates that are offered an individual interview must participate in the interview to be considered for the position. These interviews will take place in early February. This interview will consist of a question and answer session with the questions more biographical in nature so we can get to know who you are, why you are interested in being a CA and what kind of activities, jobs and experiences you have been involved in.

Hiring Notification

All Spring 2015 CA candidates will be notified of their hiring status in February.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2.25 GPA
  • Be a full-time student, graduate or undergraduate (12-18 credits)
  • Be in good conduct standing with the University
  • Interest in working with people
