Community Assistant

CA StaffThe Community Assistant is the live-in person responsible for an assigned area within University Villages consisting of approximately 100 apartment units. They serve as a liaison between the University administration and the tenants within UV; foster an atmosphere for academic, social, cultural and emotional growth in UV by serving as a resource to the tenants and their families and assist in the enforcement of all University and UV policies. This position is 20 hours per week and runs for a full calendar year. Please read the CA Job Description for more information about the CA position.

Compensation: CAs earn an apartment at University Villages and a stipend based on their apartment assignment. For the 2015-2016 contract period new CAs earn $11,259.

Mid-Year 2015-2016 CA Application Process

Residence Life will begin the recruitment process mid-year for a 2015-2016 Community Assistants to begin on November 1, 2015.

Application

All Community Assistant candidates must complete the CA Application to be considered for the position. Applications are due by October 18, 2015 to be considered for the mid-year position. All applications will be screened and individual interviews will be offered to a select number of applications.

Individual Interview

CA candidates that are offered an individual interview must participate in the interview to be considered for the position. This interview will consist of a question and answer session with the questions more biographical in nature so we can get to know who you are, why you are interested in being a CA and what kind of activities, jobs and experiences you have been involved in.

Hiring Notification

All CA candidates will be notified of their hiring status on Friday, October 23, 2015 as the position begin November 1, 2015.

Hiring Timeline

  • Mid-year CA Application Opens- Thursday, October 8th
  • Mid-year CA Application Closes- Sunday, October 18th
  • CA Interviews- Wednesday, October 21st- Thursday, October 22nd
  • Position Offered- Friday, October 23rd
  • Start Date- Sunday, November 1st

2016-2017 CA Application Process

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2.25 GPA
  • Be a full-time student, graduate or undergraduate (12-18 credits)
  • Be in good conduct standing with the University
  • Interest in working with people
