Community Assistant

CA StaffThe Community Assistant is the live-in person responsible for an assigned area within University Villages consisting of approximately 100 apartment units. They serve as a liaison between the University administration and the tenants within UV; foster an atmosphere for academic, social, cultural and emotional growth in UV by serving as a resource to the tenants and their families and assist in the enforcement of all University and UV policies. This position is 20 hours per week and runs for a full calendar year. Please read the CA Job Description for more information about the CA position.

Compensation: CAs earn an apartment at University Villages and a stipend based on their apartment assignment. For the 2016-2017 contract period new CAs earn $11,821.00.


2017-2018 CA Application Process

All CA candidates must complete an online CA application to be considered for the position. The New CA Application opened on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 and closes on Friday, March 31, 2017. The Returning CA Application opens on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 and closes on Tuesday, February 28, 2017. New CA Applications received by Sunday, February 5, 2017 will be reviewed and considered for a CA opening for the Spring 2017 semester. All applications received between January 24th-March 31st will be reviewed and considered for the 2017-2018 year.

Application

All Community Assistant candidates must complete the CA Application to be considered for the position. All applications will be screened and individual interviews will be offered to a select number of applications.

Individual Interview

CA candidates that are offered an individual interview must participate in the interview to be considered for the position. This interview will consist of a question and answer session with the questions more biographical in nature so we can get to know who you are, why you are interested in being a CA and what kind of activities, jobs and experiences you have been involved in.

Hiring Notification

All CA candidates will be notified of their hiring status on Friday, April 21, 2017 as the position begin June 1, 2017.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2.25 GPA
  • Be a full-time student, graduate or undergraduate (12-18 credits)
  • Be in good conduct standing with the University
  • Interest in working with people

April 6-10, 2017- Individual Interviews Offered to Selected Candidates
