Benefits Summaries By Employee Category

Teaching and research employees with academic appointments, including professors, instructors, lecturers, and researchers. Includes both academic year appointments (fall and spring semesters) and fiscal year appointments (12-month).
Employees in classified or skilled craft positions who support the day-to-day operations of the University. Includes administrative assistants, facilities workers, IT technicians, and other non-academic roles. Staff positions follow the State of Montana pay plan.
Administrators (including Letters of Appointment and MUS Contract Professionals)
Employees hired under individual contracts authorized by the Board of Regents rather than the State pay plan. This includes department directors, deans, professional specialists, and other administrative or professional roles that are not classified as faculty or classified staff.
