What is the purpose of the UM Graduation Survey (First Destination Survey)?

Each year, this survey helps UM gather information about the future plans of our graduates. This data helps us to more accurately inform current students, new alumni, prospective students and their families about possible career opportunities.

Information we seek from graduating students:
• Employment status
• Graduate/professional school enrollment
• Volunteer or service programs
• Starting salaries

Who should participate in the survey?

If you are graduating this semester (and have completed your graduation paperwork), the UM Graduation Survey will be available for you to complete in Handshake for 5 months beyond graduation. Graduating seniors will receive an email 5 weeks prior to commencement to complete the survey. You will also receive periodic reminder emails until the survey closes about 5 months after graduation. We understand your plans may change and we encourage you to update your survey responses at these times. We appreciate your time and willingness to complete this survey.
