Connect with Students at UM

As Montana's flagship university we set a high bar for academic studies, creative accomplishments, and scientific exploration. Our students receive a world-class education in a broad range of subjects that include the trades, liberal arts, sciences, graduate and postdoctoral study, and professional training. Connect with our diverse, experienced, hardworking, and academically talented students when recruiting for your candidates.

Career fairs are a traditional and impactful way to connect with students on campus. We host a wide variety of fairs, both broad and niche, to try and connect a diverse population of employers and students.

Check out all ou  our upcoming fairs on our Events page.

The University Center (UC) is where you’ll find a steady flow of student foot traffic. By tabling in the UC, you are gaining exposure to students in a fairly informal setting.

To reserve a table, email winter@umontana.edu with the following information:

  • Preferred Date (primary and secondary)
  • Time range (We recommend 11a-2p)
  • The name of your Employer Handshake account (if you don’t have an account, we will help get you set up!)

Throughout the year, ELCS plans and hosts several opportunities for employers to participate in workshops or panels for students. The content or purpose of each workshop or panel can vary widely, but they provide an excellent opportunity to connect with students in a smaller, more intimate setting on a specific topic. If you are interested in learning more about upcoming workshops or panels, or would like to host your own, please email bianca.winter@umontana.edu

Alumni employers are invited to join Griz Career Network to connect with other alumni and current students. The platform allows for opportunity sharing, flash mentorship, and skill building.

We are excited to highlight an opportunity for our corporate and nonprofit partners to offer short-term, professional, paid work experiences to current students through Micro-Internships. Through Micro-Internships, students can demonstrate their skills, explore career paths, and develop their professional networks. Unlike a traditional internship, these paid opportunities typically range from 10 to 40 hours of work, and most can be completed remotely. Not only does this help the students, but it allows you as employers to get immediate support and enhance your company’s pipeline for future interns and new hires.
