Dr. Byeong-Keun You received his Ph.D. degree in Curriculum and Instruction and M.A. degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) at Arizona State University. He also received his B.A. in English Education at Kongju National University (Teachers College), South Korea. Dr. You taught Korean language and culture at Korean Cultural Center and Tempe Korean School in Arizona. He also served Tempe Korean School as a principal. Dr. You has been teaching his students and developing teaching materials at DCLCP since 2013. As a former ROK soldier, he has strong empathy, passion, and energy toward his students. His life motto is being a beneficial person for others. Dr. You’s current teaching and research interests are teaching Korean as a second/foreign language, heritage language education, bilingual education, and international politics focused on South Korea, North Korea, and the United States.

Dr. Lim accepted her first teaching position in 2000 at the BCM Geos Korea English Institute in South Korea. Since then, she has served as an English instructor from 2000 to 2006, teaching in a variety of educational settings including several higher education institutions. Then she finally found her enormous passion toward teaching Korean language and had developed her career as a Korean language instructor whilst completing her master’s degree in TESOL and an education specialist degree in English education at the University of Missouri-Columbia, in 2007-2013. As a Ph.D. candidate in Higher Education Administration at Saint Louis University, Dr. Lim also delivered courses on cultural diversity. Dr. Lim’s primary research interests and the focus of her instruction is the teaching of Korean as a foreign language. Specifically, Dr. Lim has explored a hybrid of theory-grounded strategic pedagogy and sociolinguistic and intercultural communities of practice, proficiency-based Korean language instruction in traditional, hybrid, and online classes, technology-enhanced language learning, second language acquisition of Korean, innovative curriculum development and lesson planning, and modern and dynamic teaching method development.
