Glauco is originally from Americana, Brazil. He is considered to be a scholar, poet, prose writer, and translator. During his career he has served in different capacities such as:

Director of the Portuguese program at the Lauder Institute (University of Pennsylvania)

Director of Study Abroad, Brazil (Lauder Institute of the University of Pennsylvania)

Interim Director of the English Language Center (Arkansas State University)

Contributing Editor at World Literature Today (University of Oklahoma)

Visiting instructor in France, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Taiwan.

Translator (contractor) for several intelligence agencies.

President of the Academia Internacional de Escritores Brasileiros (International Brazilian Writer’s Academy)

He has authored and published several books of fiction and articles in professional journals. For two consecutive years he was invited by the Swedish Academy to nominate a candidate for the Nobel Prize in Literature.
