Teaching and Learning

UM programs are innovating while honoring already existing teaching excellence.

We are excited to help steward, for example, the proposed World Languages and Cultures Department’s efforts to restructure major requirements to enhance cultural and historical courses offerings and to amplify their interdisciplinary teaching efforts, on campus, abroad, and online.

There is accelerating effort to expand awareness and implementation of new evidence-based approaches that enhance student learning, and to increase student involvement in High Impact Practices.

Students at UM will also soon have many more opportunities online and during the summer. We are in the process of expanding both programs so that anyone, anywhere can receive an education from our university at a time that is convenient to them.

With our course offerings expanding online, we will be able to offer classes to members of our community who are place-bound as well as to people from around the world.

And our summer programs will expand each year to include students from all 50 states and around the world. Because, really, who doesn't want to be in Montana in the summer?
