Please note: Due to the addition of our Blue Line and continued staffing shortages, we have very limited availability to run any special shuttles during the school day.
In addition to our fixed-route transit service, ASUM Transportation offers private charter service to the University of Montana community, particularly during the summer months when regular routes are not operating. We can accommodate most group sizes and activities. Availability is dependent on bus and staffing levels. To request a private shuttle or get a quote, please fill out a request form below. Requesting a shuttle Q & A
All UM departments and student groups. Additionally, non-profits are welcome to request service; though selection will be based on bus/driver availability and whether the request meets ASUM core values.
Most places in the Missoula Valley that can be accessed by a 35' bus, including some of the major trailheads (i.e. Pattee Canyon, Rattlesnake, Milltown Overlook). Some popular destinations are Missoula airport, Fort Missoula, Splash MT, and the PEAS Farm.
Costs for UM-affiliated groups starts at $85.00/hr with an $22.50/hr charge for driver idle time. Shuttles that occur outside of normal operating hours will be more expensive.
Our buses range from 21-38 seats. Maximum capacity, including standing room, is 55. For safety reasons, standing is only permitted for local shuttles.
As much as possible. For summer shuttles, a request should be submitted by early-April. Details do not need to be finalized with the intitial request.
Cancellations can be made up to 72 hours in advance. There will be a charge of up to 25% for cancellations made after that point.
