Workshops

For Instructors

Each year Writing Center staff develop and deliver a variety of workshops that serve diverse campus audiences. Check out our offerings below, and please let us know if you have suggestions for topics you would like to see covered.

In-class workshops: Invite us to collaborate with you! Our staff can work with you to insert discipline-specific writing workshops into your course at key points during the semester. Tailored to particular assignments and to student needs, these workshops support your class goals and help students recognize and develop effective communication behaviors. Contact Director Shareen Grogan Shareen Grogan with inquiries.

University-wide Program-level Writing Assessment (UPWA) Fall Symposium: Join us for this professional development opportunity for writing instructors. Each fall we focus on addressing common deficits identified in undergraduate writing at UM. Topic and date TBD. Contact Associate Director Amy Ratto Parks) for more information.

UPWA Spring Writing Assessment Workshop: Be a part of this annual campus-wide evaluation of student writing proficiency.
