Employee Caroling Ensemble
Employees of the University who like to sing are invited to join an Employee Caroling Ensemble for holiday caroling in December! Dr. David Edmonds, UM's new Director of Choral Activities, has offered to conduct the group. Rehearsals will be held on Thursday, November 15 and Tuesday, November 27 at 7 p.m. in the President's Room in Brantly Hall. Arrive early for snacks!
Staff Appreciation at Basketball Games
The UM staff will be honored at two basketball games in January: On Saturday, January 5 at 7 p.m. when the Griz take on Portland State AND on Saturday, January 12 at 2 p.m. when the Lady Griz play Northern Colorado. We hope all staff members will be able to attend one of these games!
Dependent Tuition Waiver
Employees must be employed at least 3/4 time for five or more consecutive years before being eligible for a dependent tuition waiver benefit. Employees who utilize the faculty and staff tuition waiver are not eligible for a dependent tuition waiver during the same academic term. Only one dependent may utilize the dependent tuition waiver in an academic term. A dependent includes the employee's spouse or adult dependent, as defined in the MUS Employee Benefits Plan, and financially dependent children as defined by the IRS who are unmarried and under age 25. The tuition waiver benefit for dependents shall be for 50% of the residential tuition. Dependents may not use the tuition waiver benefit to attend law school or obtain a graduate degree. Staff Senate Elects Officers for 2012-2013
Senators that are beginning their term and Senators that were leaving the Senate both took part in electing the new Executive Officers for the upcoming 2012-2013 academic year. Elected as President: Darlene Samson from TRiO Support Services; Vice President: Hannah Singleton from Human Resource Services; Secretary: Carol Bates from Undergraduate Advising; Finance Officer: Lisa Coon from Business Services; and Public Relations Officer: Andi Armstrong from Davidson Honors College. Planning for the upcoming year has begun!

Movie Night Scheduled
On Saturday evening, January 26, Staff Senate and the University Center will be sponsoring a "date night at the movies." Watch for more details as the date gets closer.
Staff Caring for Staff
