Free Swim at the Grizzly Pool!

The Staff Senate has reserved the Grizzly Swimming Pool for classified staff and their families to use from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, August 18.  Bring the kids!  Enjoy the games!  Contact the Staff Senate office (243-5422) with any questions.

Lawn Chair Luncheon Social

The next Lawn Chair Luncheon will be on Friday, August 16, at the Amphitheatre at the base of the "M" trail.  It will begin at noon.  Hannah Singleton, the new Staff Senate President, will make a brief presentation and will take questions.  As always, dessert will be furnished, but bring your own lunch!  All classified staff are welcome!

Diploma Dash 5K Scheduled

On Saturday, September 14, Staff Senate will be sponsoring the Diploma Dash 5K Fun Run/Walk beginning at 10 a.m. at the Van Buren footbridge with a route toward town. The entry fee for the race is $20 for UM students and $25 for everyone else. Profits will be used for UM student scholarships. Help Fund Scholarships for Children of Staff!

You can make a big difference and help your fellow staff members by contributing to the Staff Senate Scholarship Fund. Write a check to Staff Senate Scholarships and send it to Heather Hibbard in Student Support Services. Or, an easy way to contribute is by making small, regular contributions through payroll deduction. Even $5 per month would be a great donation! Your contributions are tax deductible! Dependent Tuition Waiver

Employees must be employed at least 3/4 time for five or more consecutive years before being eligible for a dependent tuition waiver benefit.  Employees who utilize the faculty and staff tuition waiver are not eligible for a dependent tuition waiver during the same academic term.  Only one dependent may utilize the dependent tuition waiver in an academic term.  A dependent includes the employee's spouse or adult dependent, as defined in the MUS Employee Benefits Plan, and financially dependent children as defined by the IRS who are unmarried and under age 25.  The tuition waiver benefit for dependents shall be for 50% of the residential tuition.  Dependents may not use the tuition waiver benefit to attend law school or obtain a graduate degree.  For additional details contact Human Resources.

Staff Tuition Waiver

To qualify for a Tuition Fee Waiver of in-state tuition for regular courses of study at The University of Montana, eligible staff members must have completed their probationary period, must be on permanent employee status, must be working at least .75 full-time employment, and must have obtained approval from their supervisor and administration.  Here is a link to the application and policies:  http://www2.umt.edu/hrs/Benefits/Tuition%20Waiver.aspx
