Logos

The University of Montana's logos are illustrated here. You have several choices depending on your needs. The logo font is Usherwood and is only used in the logo.

Logos for the Web
The low-resolution images on this page may be downloaded for Web usage only in accordance with the Basic Guidelines, as well as those for University Publications and Commercial Use. See also Unacceptable Use of Logos. UM images are protected by federal trademark and unauthorized use of the logo is strictly prohibited.

To download: In Windows, right-click on the image, or on a Mac, hold the mouse button down, and choose "Save image as ..." or "Save picture as ...."

Logos for Print
For high-resolution images to be used in print publications, contact Printing & Graphics at (406) 243-2711 or printing@umontana.edu. Note that the low-resolution images on this page will not reproduce adequately in print and should only be used on the Web.

	This version is the most frequently used logo. It is a combination of The University of Montana wordmark and the graphic element. Make the logo at least 1 1/2 inches wide.

	Centered logo

	Logo without the graphic element. Make the logo at least 1 inch wide.

	Single-line logo. Make it at least 2 inches wide.


	Stretched single-line logo.


	The graphic element can be used alone only if the logo is elsewhere on the same page and the graphic element is altered dramatically in its appearance (ie: screened watermark, different color, or at least 3 times the size it appears in the common logo). Examples include the business card and the cover of this manual.

	Official University seal. Refers to the hand holding the torch with Lux Et Veritas, The University of Montana and 1893 encircling the symbol. This is used for official purposes such as diplomas, awards, medallions, honorary certificates, degrees and documents. It cannot be used in place of the logo.

	The University of Montana. This wordmark is used without "Missoula" when referring to multiple campuses of The University of Montana.
