Coursework Overview
Students in the professional program must earn a C- or better grade in all JRNL required courses or they must repeat the course.
After admission to the professional program, all students must take the following courses before graduation:
- JRNL 300 - First Amendment and Journalism Law
- JRNL 400 - Ethics and Trends in News Media
- JRNL 490 - Supervised Internship
- In addition, all students must choose at least five courses from a current list of JRNL electives.
- All students must successfully complete a designated capstone course.
Professional program students must successfully complete an upper-division writing course offered by the School of Journalism.
All students must earn between 37 and 48 credits in JRNL and earn a total of at least 120 credits to graduate.
