Admissions

ADMISSION APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Applying for admission to the graduate programs associated with the Molecular and Biomedical Sciences is a two-step process:

First: Complete the Online Application

Fill out the online application. There are three steps involved in the application process.

  1. Fill out and submit the Graduate Program portion of the application that comes up when you click the above link. An email will be sent to you with a link to setup your account and finish your application.
  2. Click the link in your email and complete the rest of the application fields and submit.
  3. You will be directed to your application status portal. You will be able to pay your application fee and upload supplemental materials on this page. You will also receive another email with a link to this page so you can log in later and complete these steps and track your application progress.

As part of this process, applicants must do the following:

  1. Select Molecular and Biomedical Sciences when applying for all above programs and then select all programs for which you would like to be considered. 
  2. Self-report all colleges and universities attended (including grade point average)
  3. Submit unofficial transcripts for all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended.
  4. Arrange to have three (3) letters of recommendation submitted on your behalf.
  5. Upload a personal statement that answers the following questions:
    • Describe your research interests and career goals as they relate to the graduate program(s) you have selected.
    • Briefly describe how your research experiences, personal background and accomplishments prepare you for graduate training.
    • List the names of faculty members whose research is of interest to you.  Indicate whether you have contacted any of these individuals.
    • List any publications, including meeting abstracts, of which you are author or co-author
  6. Upload resume.
  7. Pay the application fee.

Second: Request Official Scores and Transcripts:

  1. Request that official transcripts be sent to Molecular and Biomedical Sciences Umbrella from all colleges and universities you have attended (excluding University of Montana)  Transcripts may also be transmitted electronically through the National Student Clearinghouse.

ADMISSION DEADLINES

  • Fall semester - Priority will be given to complete applications submitted by December 1. Complete applications received after this date will be considered on a space available basis.

  • Spring or Summer - You must contact the director of the program of interest to determine available space in the program before applying. Applications that are submitted without program approval will not be reviewed.
