Admission Application Instructions

  1. Complete the Online Application 

Fill out the online application. There are three steps involved in the application process.

  1. Fill out and submit the Graduate Program portion of the application that comes up when you click the above link. An email will be sent to you with a link to setup your account and finish your application.
  2. Click the link in your email and complete the rest of the application fields and submit.
  3. You will be directed to your application status portal. You will be able to pay your application fee and upload supplemental materials on this page. You will also receive another email with a link to this page so you can log in later and complete these steps and track your application progress.

As part of this process, applicants must do the following:

  1. Self-report all colleges and universities attended (including grade point average)
  2. 3 Letters of recommendations.
  3. Upload a statement of purpose (1-2 pages).
  4. Upload resume.
  5. Official transcripts are not required until admission into the program. Unofficial scans can be uploaded into the additional document section of the application. 
  6. Pay the application fee.

  • For GIS Sciences and Technologies Certificate:
    • To become a candidate for the GIS Certificate, the student must file formal application at the Registration Counter in Griz Central the beginning of the semester preceding the semester in which he or she expects to graduate.  Download an application form.
  • For the Natural Resources Conflict Resolution Certificate:
    • Students must be admitted to a graduate program such as law, forestry, resource conservation, environmental studies, business, public administration, or other related fields -- or enroll as a “non-degree seeking” graduate student.
    • Submit a letter of intent to the Admissions Committee, which includes the Chair of the NRCR Program and the student’s faculty advisor.
    • For more information please read Page 23 of the program Handbook.
  • For the Wilderness Management & Protected Area Management Certificate:
    • Complete online application as indicated above. Only supplemental materials needed are transcript(s). 

Admission Deadlines

For Ecosystem Management:

  • The W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation is not currently offering this degree. Prospective students interested in this degree can specialize in this area under one of our other Master's degrees. Please visit the FCFC Graduate Programs page for more information. 

For all other programs:

  • Fall - Deadline for all application materials is January 31.  Application packets received after this date will only be reviewed if prior arrangements have been made with a faculty member.
  • Spring - Deadline for all application materials is August 31.  Application packets received after this date will only be reviewed if prior arrangements have been made with a faculty member. 
  • Summer - You must contact the director of the program of interest to determine available space before applying. Applications that are submitted without program approval will not be reviewed.
