International dialogue and the exchange of cultures, experiences, ideas and solutions is vital to the Mansfield Center's mission to enhance mutual understanding between the United States, Asia, and the world.

Two women kneeling in the middle of a garden in ThailandThe Mansfield Center is pleased to offer a variety of programs that provide opportunities for students, professionals and scholars from the United States and diverse other countries to have global exchanges to share their own expertises and experiences. The U.S. Department of State is a key partner in our ability to provide these programs, as are the University of Montana and our other local and international partners.

The Mansfield International Training Program provides cross-cultural instruction in a variety of areas including business, law, education, natural resources, climate James Taylor talking with uniformed Chinese officers in an officechange, public administration, media, and U.S. culture and society. Lectures by University faculty members are supplemented by field study, engagement with community leaders and hands-on workshops. Training programs are custom tailored to individual partner's needs.

Alumni of programs sponsored by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and hosted by the Mansfield Center also have access to the State Department's extensive International Exchange Alumni network.
