Overview
The Professional Education Council (PEC) is comprised of representatives of the Phyllis J. Washington College of Education, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the College of Science, and the College of the Arts and Media. The PEC is a University committee that is intended to facilitate collaboration among its member units, discuss educational trends and policy, support the recruitment, retention, and preparation of P-12 educators, and guide continuous improvement initiatives in the College of Education.
Function
The PEC ensures communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all educator preparation programs at the University of Montana while serving in an advisory role to the Dean of the Phyllis J. Washington College of Education. It engages internal stakeholders in program design and evaluation, reviews goals and data, and facilitates alignment with state and national accreditation standards.
