GATHERINGS

Gatherings is for new students who will experience a hands-on, STEM program for two weeks on the University of Montana Campus.  Students will take part in building their own computer along with other STEM programming that includes activities from chemistry, physics, math, natural resources, biology, and other related fields. MT AIMS will visit during the academic year to see how you are doing in your classes and provide money for good progress.

All new students will begin in Gatherings in Year 1 which lays the foundation for following MT-AIMS programs.

As the camp commences, students kickstart their adventure by assembling their very own computers. These computers become not only tools but also symbols of their own potential. Throughout the intensive 10-day program, these machines serve as gateways to immersive program content, allowing students to actively explore and engage with the world of STEM.

Upon completing the course, students not only leave with newfound knowledge but also with the very computers they've meticulously built. It's a tangible symbol of their achievements and an incentive for their continued growth. To claim and keep this valuable tool, students are required to successfully complete Algebra 1 by the end of the 9th grade, setting an academic milestone as a condition for computer ownership.
