Education and Research

IRSE looks to expand the research and education opportunities for Indigenous students.  This includes identifying methods and best practices to assist Indigenous students in obtaining B.S., M.S., and Ph.D.’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) related fields.

At the undergraduate level, IRSE assists STEM students with identifying research opportunities as a method to gain insight and experience in STEM fields.  At the graduate level, IRSE guides STEM graduate students through the graduate school process as well as serving as mentors for students engaged in research projects.

Education and research also extend to creating and nurturing relationships with tribal colleges and tribal communities for the common goal of advancing Indigenous people in STEM education.
