Advising Guidelines

Students must meet with their adviser at least once a semester to plan their course schedule for the following semester.

The general times to schedule an advising appointment are mid-October (for spring semester) and mid-April (for fall semester).

When you meet with your adviser for the first time, he or she will review which classes you need to complete to apply for the professional program. In subsequent meetings, you should make sure to look through the course catalog and work out a tentative schedule before your advising appointment. Advisers will answer questions and make sure you're on the right track, but you must determine your own course schedule.

See a suggested course plan here.

Remember:

  • Please bring an unofficial transcript printed from your Cyberbear account to all advising appointments.
  • Students can find their adviser listed on their Student Profile page in Cyberbear or in Navigate.
  • Don't forget to "share" your planner with your adviser before your appointment.
